So what does the younger generation really want?
Lately it seems like more and more teens on the verge of becoming adults no longer want a career, fame or respect. Sometimes it seems like they do not want anything at all.
The current state of youths reflects the reality of the 21st century. On the surface, youths today may appear superficial, indifferent, lost in a virtual realm of smartphones and tablets, but the truth of the matter is that they are far more developed than we are. It is a generation that lives and breathes in a connected, fast, and integral world where political borders do not exist, and where all are citizens of a global sphere. Read more
The world today is integral and global. Hence, connections between us must become integral and global as well. Such a change is feasible only by educating to globality. Every person in the world must realize that in the new world, we are all interconnected, and hence must be mutually considerate. Read more
During the teenage years, children naturally transition into a new stage of development from a hormonal and psychological standpoint. This stage begins at ages 12-13 in their early teens, and ends around age 20, when they have become (at least from a physiological perspective) mature human beings. If we have done our job correctly as parents and educators, they will also have the psychological and emotional maturity to be able to step into the world of adults. Read more
A significant change occurs in a child’s development between the ages of six and nine. He comes out of his individual cell and becomes aware of the environment. This, in turn enables him to reflect upon himself and his environment. This age period is, therefore, the ideal time to start teaching children higher concepts since they are now able to grasp notions such as “environment,” “the meaning of life,” the foundations of higher math, and so on.
