""Just when we thought we had finally created a network, a system for connecting, where we could express ourselves freely, think, take initiative, and even air our opinions without too much interference, now the U.S. Congress is still trying to pass legislation that will allow the government to censor the Internet. According to the proposal, they will be able to obligate Internet service providers to block sites that are suspected of infringing copyright law or even those that are not supervising user behavior. Since most servers and hardware are in the U.S., their blacklist will limit all of our freedoms.

The U.S. is searching for every possible excuse to censor this media channel, and any decision they make will have irreversible, destructive repercussions and set a new international precedent. The moment we allow the first intervention of the state, apparently it will also be the day of the Internet’s death. The moment narrow-minded interest groups get their hands on the Internet they will prevent and thwart the free flow of information, just as they did until now. Why? Because information is power, because information equals progress, and apparently this is something someone wants to rob us of. Who could it be? The existing media, governments, and tycoons that think they run the world. To make a long story short all those that have brought us to the current crisis.

Today a new idea was born, a new world, the voice of the people is coming to life after many years of slumber and disorientation. Since we are dealing with a new world restructuring, and new social values, it is clear that the changes will take time to digest and implement. It takes a tremendous amount of effort, innovation and change to create a new environment. Ideally this would involve establishing a collective organization that would help us rise to the challenges we are facing together as a society. From this point onward no one will change or even want to change the old ways of doing things except us, the free people. What makes us free?—our desire to determine the proper basic arrangement for each and every citizen, even those on the other side of the world. Here it is vital to emphasize that those in authority will continue to attempt to sabotage any action we take which will obligate them to make changes, because they also require time to grasp that they must change.

We must not give in, because the Internet is the last place where we enjoy the free flow of information, the ability to manage organizations, and conduct our ideological or social affairs. It is the last piece of truly public domain and the only sector that the public has left to stand on and widely share its uncensored voices. The Internet has rapidly grown in depth and breadth as an information sharing network for the people of the world. All other media channels switched over to private hands many years ago.

The current global network is very accessible and practical, any way you look at it: content, information, live broadcasts, a variety of news, and most importantly uncensored. Here lies our moral obligation to ourselves as individuals and to the world, to stand up and kick, scream, cry, and not agree to anyone touching the web. The Internet now more than ever symbolizes the populace in all its diversity; it truly represents the reality around us. So it is in our best interests to make it crystal clear to all the governmental authorities that they are simply public servants and do not determine reality. Reality has its own laws that apply to us all, with the public servant’s responsibility being only to maintain and arrange our good and desirable order for citizens everywhere.

Change is also required from our side in our understanding and new awareness that from this day forward, if we do not look after ourselves, if we do not take responsibility, if we do not want to change our future and especially for our children, it won’t happen. We cannot remain complacent. Even if the world is on the brink of destruction the politicians and the power elite will not be willing to change. If we do not force our opinion on them, not with ammunition, but rather with public opinion, nothing will change.

Today more than ever, the demand and necessity for a connection between people will continue to grow, which means that we will need this internet connection we have even more in the future. So today, tomorrow and in general, let us not allow anyone to touch it, because this global social connection is what the elite are afraid of and want to stop at any price. As long as we remain ignorant and without information about ourselves and our world, they can continue to control us. But this is our lives we are dealing with and our shared world. We must be confident that the everyman will prevail over the general system, and that will provide us with a good and protected existence, and lead us to a life where the virtual network will inspire a new social network in our world.
