Question

Is there something better then democracy? Alex Lindt

Answer by Michael Laitman

We do not have any idea about what democracy is. To us «democracy» means that we can get along with one another more or less—without the force of the fist and coercion in the most brutal form, but according to certain laws. By observing them, we are more or less able to avoid hurting one another directly—and this is what we call «democracy.» None of us know what «freedom» is. We are not free. Each of us is born with qualities that he did not choose. Each of us received an education that he did not choose. We grow up and by 20 years of age we become adults, where we received everything in us from society, from factors that are not connected to us and do not depend on us at all. In essence, I am a person who has already come out of the oven ready. However, «I»—is not I. «I»—is what was given to me. This is why I progress through life according to this. So do I know what «freedom» is? I am not free; I merely carry out what I had received in the past.

Therefore this is not democracy, freedom, nor free choice. After everything that I received from everyone since childhood, from teachers—if I will find out how to work with all of this, how to use it in order to achieve freedom, then I will possibly be able to realize myself. This is why we need to know the law of nature, the laws of society and what they must really be, in the objective form that is independent of us. We reveal the laws of nature, the social laws, from ants and animal packs—and these same laws act in the human pack. If we reveal them and establish them in our society, if we realize these laws in our society, then thanks to effectively using the laws of nature, we will come to true democracy. In other words, each person will have his own balanced place in the world, each nation, community, and country and all of humanity as a whole will have a wonderful and balanced place that corresponds to the general nature. Whereas now each of us still thinks of democracy and of laws in his own way. This is why naturally, we are becoming immersed in a global crisis of human society and for now we do not see how we should exist. Democracy in our days is coming to an end, and the following regime that humanity will adopt is Nazism. Nazism will come to replace the current regime of all the progressed democratic countries, and then we will see that we really do not understand the true laws of nature. Let us hope that we will understand them before we bring ourselves to Nazism, and that we will come to the wonderful and correct form of humanity’s existence—to altruism.
